James is a partner at Gauer Olsen who specializes in taxation needs for medical professionals. He works predominately with medical doctors, specialists and other incorporated professionals.
Articling in both Calgary, AB and Christchurch, NZ for Ernst & Young and Grant Thornton, he has gained valuable experience in multiple industries and client service. James’ work experience has been primarily focused in servicing professionals by creating customized solutions to increase profitability and optimize tax planning.
James completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Calgary and obtained bachelor degrees in Commerce with majors in Accounting and Entrepreneurship, as well as Humanities with a major in German literature and language.
After some time abroad to work on his fluency in both French and German, James also completed a diploma in French Culinary Arts.
Outside of the office, James is an avid golfer and downhill skier. There is never too much powder that can’t be conquered! He is also a passionate gardener with a green thumb for growing large bamboo. If he isn’t skiing or tending to his jungle, you can find him either salmon fishing or enjoying a hockey game with the Royals.
